Le Fer A Cheval

One of the trendiest eateries in Paris takes over the terrace in the Parc de Saint Cloud for a summer of fun and festivity

To the great delight of all néophytes, the famous few from Monkey Pigalle are sure to get the party started on the 400m2 terrace of Le Fer à Cheval, nestled into the lush green surroundings of the historic Saint Cloud park.

Originally purchased in 1577 by Catherine de Médicis, the Italian Renaissance property served as a refuge to a number of royals, along with other wealthy members of high society. Designed by André Le Nôtre, the King’s Gardener, in the early 17th-century, Le Domaine National de Saint Cloud is doted with a castle and an incredible cascade waterfall, and occupies over 460 hectares right along the River Seine.

Opened in 2016, the restaurant Le Fer à Cheval is a truly unique experience, hidden away in a quiet corner of the domaine, and is the perfect place to relax and unwind. In typical terrace attire, dressed in white parasols and white table cloths, this chic “guinguette” is the perfect outdoor antidote to a year spent indoors. And since we’re all in need of a drink, the dynamic duo from Monkey Pigalle, Antony Faotto and David Janaud, will be mixing up their famous cocktails from lunch to dinner and late into the night.

Long communal tables set the scene for a festive atmosphere, as guests share big plate specials and easy seasonal meals with a Mediterranean flair, imagined by chef Hugo Pinto. Ham from Bellotta, burrata from Pouilles, Black Angus from Aberdeen, popcorn shrimp from the sea, and their famous deluxe pizza with truffles, parmesan and roquette. A seasonal selection of salads, sides and specials offers something for everyone. But the « pièce de résistance » that will bring the Parisians all the way from Pigalle is the mouth-watering Croque Monsieur made from 18-month old Conté, Paris ham and a truffle cream.

Don’t miss a chance to try the spicy frozen margarita while sitting high up in the trees. Brunch is served on Sundays, live music is played Thursday to Saturday, with the talented Fabio Trapani from Monkey Pigalle at the table, and cocktails are served daily.
